The Occupation Has Begun!

Occupy Clarksville is on its 28th day at Public Square. We are a grassroots movement for Democracy and against corporate money and corruption. We hold general assemblies nightly at 6 p.m. at Public Square, outside of the City Hall.

The primary goals of Occupy Clarksville are to:

  1. End corporate personhood.
  2. Separate money and politics
  3. Support the Occupy Wall Street Movement

This movement is filled with dedicated and informed people from all walks of life who share the desire for a better future. We understand that the problems of government and society are complex; they require careful thought and creative solutions. Our current political system is incapable of addressing these issues because of the influence that corporations and their lobbyists exert over our representives. This current political culture impedes true Democracy: government by the people and for the people. We are stepping up to take our rightful position as the true leaders of this country. Come join us!

We are defenders of Democracy. We are the 99%. So are you.
